Ramadan-The Blessed month.

Imagine you get a special offer from the world’s biggest and most successful bank that you can take anything from their special treasures but within the time limit of 10 minutes. Now what will you do? The bank on a count of three said your 10 minutes start now, now what you do is text and talk with your friends, scroll Instagram, and watch a movie. NO? You must be thinking, who fool would do this and not avail this opportunity? You will avail that offer without even wasting a second and make the most out of that 10 minutes, Right? So why? why do we waste our Ramadan? In fact that bank treasure is nothing in front of the treasures and blessings of Ramadan. We should try to utilize each second and make the most out of it.

The importance of Ramadan and the fasting person is highlighted in the narration of Abu Huraira:

Every (good) deed of the son of Adam would be multiplied, a good deed receiving a tenfold to seven hundredfold reward. Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, has said: With the exception of fasting, for it is done for Me and I will give a reward for it, for one abandons his passion and food for My sake. There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts, joy when he breaks it, and joy when he meets his Lord, and the breath (of an observer of fast) is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.

Also, imagine that a guest comes every year and for suppose cleans your house, does all the pending work, and provides you benefits in any way needed. Wouldn’t you welcome that guest with all your heart? Consider Ramadan your this guest who is here to ease and soothe your heart. Ramadan blesses us in ways we can’t even think of. Ramadan is a gift from ALLAH.

Ramadan is taken from the word “Ramadhaa” which means the intense heat of the sun. Imam Qurtubi said: that Ramadan is named such because it burns the sins of the believers.

There is a different kind of magic in this month it can turn a completely sick and empty heart into a joyful, content, and satisfied heart. The joy and happiness Ramadan brings is unmatchable.

Ramadan is the month of DUA so try to utilize this opportunity and ask Allah for everything you want. Make dua for yourself, for the ones you love, and keep praying for every little thing your heart desires and every big thing your heart feels impossible for as prayers can move mountains.

Allah has given Ramadan as a gift and Allah being our creator knows what can be the best gift for us, and indeed Ramadan is, we don’t consider it usually until we get to know the importance of Ramadan in a real sense. you can truly love something only when you get to know it.

Clean your hearts in Ramadan. This is the month when “shaitaan”(satan) is caged. So, the time when we have to deal with and kill our inner demons and try our best to leave the sins we think are the most difficult ones to leave and seek help from Allah. Ramadan is a special time for making our lives better in every way. Ramadan is a blessing and try to make the most out of it.

Ramadan makes us meet our real capabilities. Fasting shows us we do have self-control. If we can leave Halaal in Ramadan for a specific time, so, how come not haram? Here I mean the food and water that you eat after iftar is halaal but we don’t eat it in the fasting period for the sake of Allah even when we are alone just because we are mindful that if nobody is watching us, surely Allah is. So while being hungry, we leave the food, and we control the NAFS for Allah so can’t we apply it in our daily life and leave haraam and things that are forbidden, and if something is forbidden that must be harmful for us if we understand it or not. Your parents always say no to things that can harm you, they say no for your betterment, so Allah whose love is unmatchable and who is the wisest surely prohibits things for our betterment.

Ramadan teaches us to be patient. Ramadan is not about staying hungry and thirsty but controlling your nafs, controlling your anger, cleansing your heart, having no grudges for anyone, being forgiving, killing your ego, being truthful, and avoiding all the forbidden acts for the sake of Allah. If you are fasting and doing all the bad, like listening to music, watching movies, being in haram relationships, and leaving prayers then Allah doesn’t need you to be hungry. Abu Huraira narrated :

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)”

Ramadan makes us realize the importance of blessings. Normally when we feel thirsty we drink water but when after being thirsty for the whole day you take a sip of the water, then you come to know that what a big blessing it is.

THINGS TO DO IN RAMADAN / SOME PRACTICAL STEPS FOR A BETTER RAMADAN.

Abu Huraira reported:

When any one of you gets up in the morning in the state of fasting, he should neither use obscene language nor do any act of ignorance. And if anyone slanders him or quarrels with him, he should say:” I am fasting, I am fasting.”
